Food Processing: After a semester of work and day of travel, we finally arrived!

Our trip began at 10 am on Sunday when we all arrived at Logan Airport, and ended at 8:00 am (4:00 am EST) the next day when we landed in Accra. Our long-term friend and TroTro driver, Sammy, picked us up at the airport. He drove us for 6 hours to our destination, KNUST where we will be staying for the next two weeks. Once we were settled in we finally met in person with Deborah and Asante, the leads of the team in Ghana. They have the same wide smiles and happy eyes that we became familiar with in the past months over Skype—we were so glad to finally meet them! They were kind enough to stop by and say hi before we went off to an early dinner, at which some members of our team were dozing off--at this point we’d been awake for over 24 hours and were ready for bed! After a delicious dinner, we called it a night and went to bed around 9pm. Tomorrow will be our first day at work!
